Luxury lodges for families & friends
Where luxury greets nature
Our trio of luxury lodges offer the ultimate in contemporary living. We’ve poured a lot of love into these lodges, aspiring to create spaces we would want to experience on our own holidays.
Each lodge has two bedrooms and sleeps 4/5 people + infant. Four legged friends are also welcome.

Indoor spaces
In each lodge you’ll find light-filled, an open-plan living space with beautifully kitted-out kitchen, generous dining space for comfortable conversation-filled suppers, and super squishy sofas with glass-fronted log burner – perfect for cosy evenings enjoying our carefully curated book and games collection.

Upstairs are two serene bedrooms with luxurious linen and those all-important blackout blinds help ensure a peaceful slumber.
The master bedroom enjoys a sumptuous super king bed, while the second bedroom can be made up as either a super king or twins. An inflatable mattress for a fifth person can be provided (£10 per night supplement, includes mattress, bedding and towels).
The family bathroom includes a ginormous stand-alone bath, separate waterfall shower, and wall-to-ceiling mirror to maximise the sense of space and light.

We are meticulous when it comes to the small detail (think quality ‘Marshall’s Bluetooth speaker, Egyptian cotton linen and colourful cookbooks) and are true lighting-obsessives, ensuring a range of dimmable lighting is available throughout the lodge to suit the mood.

From each of our spaces – whether indoor or out – you can truly live in the landscape, absorbing the views across our meadow to the hills beyond. The best holidays we’ve had are the ones where our children are happy and having fun. Peek under the stairs and you’ll find the secret den with nature books, binoculars and wooden toys to inspire creative play. Head outside and discover the hand-crafted wooden swings dotted through our woodland, and a plethora of natural nooks for getting lost in magical imaginary worlds.

Dog Friendly
As dog owners ourselves, we understand that your dog is a member of the family, and VIPs (Very Important Pooches!) are welcomed at Cynefin Retreats with as much warmth as their owners.
You and your canine companion will have a tail-wagging time exploring the local area and the wealth of walking opportunities nearby. Our woodland adjoins a public footpath leading directly onto the Wye Valley Walk– a fabulous path that leads directly into Hay-on-Wye and beyond. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are nearby which are fantastic for scenic dog walks.
We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs per lodge. The cost per stay is £30 for one dog, £45 for two dogs.
